Fiction writer, scriptwriter, freelance journalist and poet Mileta Rien studied Professional Writing and Editing at RMIT. Her work has won prizes and been published in The Age, The Big Issue and numerous anthologies.

Mileta teaches creative writing at SPAN Community House.  She writes comedy sketches for web channel VODville, and is currently in production of her first short film, which she wrote and is directing.

She has worked as a receptionist, audio transcriber, waitress (for three weeks),  photocopier salesperson (for two), life drawing model, market researcher, library assistant, second-hand bookshop sales assistant, and cardboard-chicken folder (this is not a typo and you did not misread it).

She likes cats, jazz, bicycles, black coffee, and parentheses.
